This policy brief examines youth unemployment in Gabane, Botswana, where unemployment is high, particularly among young people and women. A study using the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) reveals that government support programs have low uptake due to lack of awareness, and training programs often don't align with industry needs. The research emphasizes the need for policymakers to address gender discrimination, improve program awareness, and ensure skills training meets employer demands to effectively reduce youth unemployment in the region.
