This study investigated the sustainability levels in terms of sustainable development practices that are included in the property development process. This paper used questionnaires and oral interviews to collect the relevant data from private companies and parastatals in Gaborone. The unit of analysis for this was property development companies in Gaborone. From the literature that was reviewed upon inception of this research, it was quite clear that many countries, especially in Africa, are still struggling to implement sustainable development practices. European countries have been able to implement sustainable development in real estate but others are still at a lower level of implementation. This paper found out that sustainability in Gaborone is still at an average level and growing. It however lacks the necessary technology to attain higher levels of sustainability.
