The early stages of computerisation were pre-occupied with managing activities such asoperations, programming, data collection etc. This then developed into information systems.Such systems include: customer managementsystems, financial systems, human resourcesystems, business intelligence systems, assetmanagement systems, waste managementsystems, document management systems, workflow management systems, and hundredsof other systems. In recent years, thesesystems are being integrated with each other tosuch an extent that it is oftentimes necessary toview them, not as hundreds of differentsystems, but one single system comprising ofseveral systems, often referred to as enterprise-wide information system. Many organizationshowever have encountered difficulties whenattempting to modify enterprise resourceplanning systems to their business operations. These factors led to the growth of EnterpriseArchitecture. This paper focuses on studyingthe trend in the development of the BotswanaEnterprise system and it’s implication on seamless government. The research istheoretical, it surveys literature and uses a casestudy approach. The study focused on usingthe University of Botswana as a case study toseamless government. The study at the endproposes some implications of working

towards a seamless government
