In this report, we have synthesized zinc oxide (ZnO) using Moringa Oleifera leaf extract by hydrothermal method. The XRD patterns of synthesized ZnO nanoparticles were studied. The observed strong diffraction peaks for the sample is consistent with the wurtzite phase. No peaks attributed to possible impurities were observed. The broadening of the diffraction peaks which are at different crystal sizes form different polycrystalline aggregates. The average particle size has been determined from full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the diffraction peaks using Scherrer’s equation. The average particle size of zinc oxide nanoparticles was found to be 25 nm. The UV–vis absorption spectra indicate significant absorption in the range of 200–450 nm (visible light region). The FTIR spectra of the Moringa synthesized zinc oxide were recorded over a range of 4500–500 cm−1.
