This note examines the laws regulating waste management in Botswana. It
considers the objectives behind keeping a clean and healthy environment.
The obligations involved in waste management and the responsibility to
enforce them are canvassed. Over all, concerns relating to a satisfactory
and healthy environment will be raised, the old legislative framework in
the country will be reviewed and its shortcomings evaluated. Last but not
least important, the new legislative framework will be considered in the
light of modem policies of keeping a clean environment.
