context of Botswana. The paper is based mainly on secondary data analysis. The results indicate that NGOs are efficiently managed in Botswana, particularly in the areas of human rights. One of the major factors impacting management efficiency of non-governmental organizations is reduced international funding, particularly after Botswana was re-categorized as a mid income country. The research concludes that the previously held fact, that NGOs in Botswana enjoyed international funding, has now elapsed. This has affected their capacity to effectively lobby, develop, deliver and sustain themselves. Furthermore, reduced financial resources have impacted the NGOs’ financial and human resource bases.
