This policy brief examines the level of participation of women in the electoral process of Botswana. Women are poorly represented in decision making bodies and this has far reaching implications. Equal participation is necessary for social, political and economic development in the country. This brief also compares women's participation in Botswana with other South African countries and explores the factors influencing participation.
