This paper endeavours to investigate various collective practices in the three SADC countries being: Botswana, Lesotho and Namibia. Collective bargaining has served as an important icon for democracy, a device for increasing workers income, improving working conditions and reducing inequality, a means for ensuring fair employment relations and a source of workplace innovation, moreover the number of workers belonging to trade unions has declined in many countries and global economic integration has tipped bargaining power in favour of employers. One of the most important recommendations provided is that in both countries they should be annual conferences on collective bargaining as a way of identifying and formulating responses to industrial relations challenges and also these countries should hold regular effective communications between trade unions and management
